okaa

the bass towards the beginning seems a little to strong and you have the drums already going so they get a little repetitive, after the short break the bass doesn't sound right to me at all, but it picks itself back up at the next few notes, :58, this is probably my favorite part, you have some ambient stuff going through, and the piano comes in and finishes things up.

combatplayer responds:

Lol yeah. Know abaut the crappy masterings n stuff. As it says in the text up there, it is based on the breakdown with all the ambience. The rest was mainly to form a track.

Thanks for a constructive review. When i buy the full vertion of fruity loops i'll finish it and look into the points u mentioned.

good

liked this, everything seemed to blend well and loved the melo, although one of the hits of those drums seems a little sharp and loud imo.

InYourDreams responds:

thnx 4 the review! well...its a matter of taste. They are no real drums anyway :P

liek itsh

like this one, reminds me of a yoshi;s island song when the main melo kicks in, nice low-fi kicks and efx, not overpowering, bass is nice and oldschool, however I don't like the off-tuney parts that happen, just something about them that doesn't seem right, I don't really like the first few transitions, cold-turkey and all, I like the ones later though.

PuffballsUnited responds:

Hmm... Not sure which off-tuney parts you're talking about. And yeah, the first transition is really harsh, but that's one of my favorite parts of the song. Thanks for the constructive review!

its k

It's alright, for VG I expected these basic synths, the panning twinkle though, doesn't really seem to fit in with the song, you really tried to mix VG with reg. and it didnt go so well, the kick scheme doesn't really work with me.

JD14 responds:

I know what you mean; and yeah, I agree. Maybe I'll change up the twinkle :o
Thanks :D

murrr

the melo synth could have probably used a bit more glide time, piano could use some work, bass is a bit murky, the idea of gunshots isn't executed very well imo.

BaSeBaLl151 responds:

Lol I know the gunshots aren't done well...I just added them at the last second for effect. Thanks for the review.

hmmm

I understand that this is supposed to be a dark song, but it doesn't really fit the bill imo, something about it doesn't seem right enough, and using that toxid biohazard ( yes I know ), the drums could be heavily changed and would probably make a alot of difference in this song aswell.

t-bone88 responds:

Well, this is my first song with fl 8, after my other comp crashed and its months since I last made a song.

Thnx for the review though, I'll work on my drum skills

aight

sounds really muddy to me, the gliding synth you put in here seems a bit to slow so it sounds out of tune near the beginning, this song doesn't really give a sleuthy sound other than the main melo/synth, but it works.

Snakessgoss responds:

Hmm, what part is the gliding synth?

like it

although the kick kind of comes in a bit early for my taste, it isnt bad and fits in nicely, the clicks remind me of a infected mushroom song, the travel-ling like synth that comes in a bit latter sound marvelous, the break, somehow the synth manages to dance around it a bit, i'm not sure what your idea was of that transition, a bit wierd imo, from here on it sounds alright the chi-chi's sound a bit too loud, and a reminder of repetive-ness comes in while you use that same synthy build up again.
The shit that starts at 2:40 is pretty badass, I love how it transforms around, a melo pattern used around here sounds a bit like basshunter, the low-end wnvelope added a real nice touch, sounded smooth, although when you pretty much excessively apply it, and then again it sounds a little out-of-place, ( and then the expected chi-chi synth routune finishes the song :P )

Blizzaine responds:

I think by "chi-chi" you mean sidechain but I'm really not sure

thanks for the review!

the sitar-sounding synth you have running near the first seems a bit out of place, after the break your other synth ( the one slightly in the background with a cute melo of its own) sounds a bit too low and hard to hear, even though it's wanting to shine, the bass is alright and gets kind of annoying without changing up too much, the piano is always loved by me in any song, reminds me of the old days of the NG portal <3, you change things up a bit by kind of arp the synths which is aight to me.

Bracksta responds:

Ya i was trying to be original :) with the style. You are right about the bass and synths, i should have made the synth stick out a lil more

hmm

A lot of these intruments don't really sound too well together, the drums are a bit low, nothing really shines here, too many things are going on most of the song, the synth is probably the most prominent thing, for some reason, the song feels dragged on most of its time.

Comlock responds:

=D Thanks for the critique Tykwa.
When I think about it, the things you mention seem abolutley true^-^

I should probably find some more time to tweak on this since the mixing is quite bad atm. The kick drum probably has too much base, and because of that the sound from it kept clipping over. I wasn't too comfertable using the compression and limiting in this app yet, so instead I ended up getting to low on the drums^^

perfection is a fabrication of a unified sociative collective.
